Baylor's Jared Butler withdraws from NBA draft
Baylor guard Jared Butler is withdrawing from the 2020 NBA Draft and will return to the Bears for his junior season, he announced Monday.
Butler earned third-team All-American honors after averaging a team-high 16 points on 38.1% 3-point shooting for Baylor last season. His production was instrumental in the Bears finishing the 2019-20 campaign ranked fifth in the nation with a 24-6 record.
Fellow standout guard MaCio Teague has also decided to return, making Baylor one of the leading candidates to be named No. 1 in preseason polls.
"The pieces we have coming in, the pieces we have returning ... I think we'll have a great team," Butler told Stadium's Jeff Goodman.
Along with Butler and Teague, Baylor is now set to have four starters back in the fold, including Davion Mitchell and Mark Vital.
