Askew is ranked No. 12 overall and No. 1 among point guards on the 2021 ESPN 60 recruit board.
Wildcats coach John Calipari has had plenty of success with highly regarded guards. Since taking over at Kentucky in 2009, Calipari has garnered commitments from future NBA standouts including John Wall, Eric Bledsoe, Brandon Knight, Devin Booker, Jamal Murray, De'Aaron Fox, and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.
As things stand, Askew is Kentucky's first commitment for the 2021 class, though his father, Brian Askew, previously told 247Sports' Evan Daniels that Devin will re-evaluate the possibility of reclassification in the spring.
