Vanderbilt's Matt Ryan has entered the transfer portal, though still has "interest in seeing who gets the (head coaching) job at Vandy as well," he told ESPN's Jeff Borzello.
The 6-foot-8 forward started 25 of his 29 appearances for the Commodores last season, averaging 8.1 points and 2.7 rebounds per game while shooting 32.8 percent from deep.
Ryan previously played two seasons at Notre Dame, sitting out 2017-18 in order to transfer to Vanderbilt.
Despite securing commitments from top-20 recruits Darius Garland and Simi Shittu, the Commodores turned in one of the worst seasons in school history, losing all 18 of their SEC games to finish the year with a record of 9-23. As a result, the program decided to part ways with head coach Bryce Drew after three seasons.
