The last thing on Rhode Island head coach Dan Hurley's mind after getting bounced from the NCAA tournament was what he would be doing next.
Hurley has been linked to various openings across the league, including a glaring vacancy at UConn, but he's Rhode Island's coach for the time being and he wasn't interested in addressing anything else.
"Listen, I could give a crap about who's got an opening anywhere. I haven't thought about it for a second," Hurley told ESPN's Jeff Goodman.
"I could care less what any other school in the country that's looking for a coach or talks about me on social media - I could give two craps about that. My heart, my mind, is with this program and these players that just lost a brutal game after having an amazing last couple seasons, and for me it's easy.
"These seasons are long and hard and for me, I'm just going to go into hibernation for a day and physically and emotionally try to recover. These five-month journeys take a lot out of you."
Hurley is tied to a seven-year contract worth $1 million per year, but that salary could easily be topped by a major program like Connecticut. His resume at Rhode Island, highlighted by two NCAA tournament appearances, would certainly make him an attractive candidate to replace Kevin Ollie.
Rhode Island was bounced by Duke in the Round of 32 on Saturday.
