Providence wins 84-76 against Georgetown

PROVIDENCE, R.I. (AP) — Devin Carter had 29 points in Providence's 84-76 victory against Georgetown on Saturday.

Carter also contributed four steals for the Friars (14-6, 5-4 Big East Conference). Josh Oduro added 22 points while going 8 of 10 and 6 of 7 from the free throw line, and he also had six rebounds. Davonte Gaines was 4 of 10 shooting, including 1 for 6 from 3-point range, and went 5 for 5 from the line to finish with 14 points.

Jayden Epps led the Hoyas (8-12, 1-8) in scoring, finishing with 26 points and six assists. Ismael Massoud added 16 points and seven rebounds for Georgetown. In addition, Supreme Cook had 15 points.

A 10-0 run in the first half gave Providence an eight-point lead. Oduro scored 14 points in the first half and Providence led 37-33 at halftime. Providence turned a two-point second-half lead into a nine-point advantage with a 9-2 run to make it a 48-39 lead with 14:49 left in the half. Carter scored 18 second-half points in the win.
