Los Angeles Clippers forward Blake Griffin underwent a second surgery this week on his broken right hand, sources told ESPN's Ramona Shelburne.
Griffin suffered a spiral fracture of the fourth metacarpal in his shooting hand during a Jan. 23 altercation with Clippers equipment manager and friend Matias Testi during a night out in Toronto.
The initial prognosis was a four-to-six-week time frame for Griffin's return to action, although Clippers coach Doc Rivers was not optimistic about that. Griffin was nearing a return from a partially-torn quadriceps when the incident that caused the hand injury occurred. He hasn't played a game since Dec. 26.
Griffin's behavior has added fuel to trade rumors surrounding the five-time All-Star, something Rivers tried to throw cold water on Friday.
"Blake's ours and he's going to stay ours," Rivers said.
