Report: Heat inquired about Tony Wroten, Dorell Wright
Besieged with a host of injuries, the Miami Heat may be looking to add another player to their suddenly thin roster.
The Heat have reportedly inquired about former NBA players Tony Wroten and Dorell Wright, according to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald.
Wroten spent time earlier this season with the Philadelphia 76ers, but became expendable following the acquisition of Ish Smith and was cut in late December.
The 22-year-old averaged 8.4 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 2.5 assists while shooting 33.8 percent from the floor in eight games.
Dorell Wright - the brother of Toronto Raptors rookie Delon Wright - plays for the Beikong Fly Dragons of the Chinese Basketball Association. While he's currently under contract, he'll become available to NBA teams in mid-February.
The 6-foot-7 small forward averaged 8.4 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.6 assists in his 11-year NBA career.
Miami (23-20) is in the midst of a three-game losing streak, clearly hurting from its lack of depth. Neither player figures to make a dramatic impact, but they could help the team cope for the time being.
