Kyrie Irving will sit out Saturday's game against the Portland Trail Blazers as the Cleveland Cavaliers rest their point guard, the team confirmed.
There appears to be no setback for Irving and his knee, just the team's intention to rest him as the Cavaliers play the second end of a back-to-back. He played 26 minutes in Cleveland's Christmas Night loss to the Golden State Warriors, his most floor time in three games back.
Irving still seems to be finding his NBA legs again, shooting 10-for-34 in three contests and averaging 10 points and 3.3 assists.
The Blazers will be without their floor general as well as Damian Lillard remains out with plantar fasciitis.
