The Dallas Mavericks will be without back-up point guard J.J. Barea for at least the next three contests.
Barea sprained his right ankle Wednesday night against the San Antonio Spurs in the 88-83 loss.
Coach Rick Carlisle said the injury was "not considered serious."
The Mavericks will face the Denver Nuggets on Saturday night, followed by road games with the Sacramento Kings and Portland Trail Blazers.
Barea is averaging 8.6 points per game and 4.1 assists per game this season, while shooting 82.1 percent from the line.
