X-rays negative on Lopez's foot after leaving loss to Bucks

Ed Szczepanski-USA TODAY Sports

It's shaping up to be a rough season for the Brooklyn Nets, but the organization may have dodged a major bullet Saturday.

Center Brook Lopez left the Nets' 94-86 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks late in the fourth quarter with a sore right foot. X-rays taken after the contest were negative. For a refresher, the right foot is the one Lopez has had surgery on three times. He last missed time due to a right foot injury at the beginning of last season.

Lopez signed a three-year deal with the Nets worth a reported $63 million in July, and for better or worse remains the woeful team's best player. He's averaging 20.5 points and 8.3 rebounds in six games this season.

To perhaps oversimplify his value to the Nets, when Lopez exited the game, he was replaced by Andrea Bargnani.
