Tyreke Evans: Expects to miss 6-to-8 weeks
Updating a previous report, Evans (knee) has now been given a recovery timetable of six-to-eight weeks, John Reid of the New Orleans Times Picayune reports.
Analysis:
Evans, who is recovering from arthroscopic surgery on his right knee, was initially given a four-to-six week timeline, but that was quickly amended after further clarification was passed down from the team. His absence leaves a gaping hole in the lineup for the Pelicans, who are incredibly thin in the backcourt with Jrue Holiday restricted to only 15 minutes per game through January and Norris Cole (ankle) sidelined for multiple weeks. Look for the newly-signed Nate Robinson to be the primary beneficiary of extended minutes while Evans remains out, though it's possible the Pelicans could make another late addition to their backcourt depth.
