Report: Grizzlies' Conley unlikely for Game 2 vs. Warriors
Bad news, bears.
The Memphis Grizzlies may be without Mike Conley for another game against the Golden State Warriors.
The point guard is reportedly unlikely to play in Game 2 of the Western Conference semifinals as a result of the facial injury he suffered in Game 3 of the first round against the Portland Trail Blazers, according to USA Today Sports' Sam Amick.
Conley missed the rest of the conference quarters against the Blazers after taking an elbow to the eye socket from Blazers guard C.J. McCollum that required him to have surgery to insert two metal plates in his face to repair the fracture.
He was seen wearing a mask in warmups for Game 1, giving Memphis fans hope that he would make a return to the hardwood to help his squad. However, he was ultimately ruled out of action, and the Grizzlies suffered a 101-86 defeat.
If Conley is held out for Game 2, the burden will fall upon Beno Udrih and Nick Calathes to cover his minutes.
