Blazers' Aldridge diagnosed with left finger sprain
Portland Trail Blazers power forward LaMarcus Aldridge has been diagnosed with sprained left index finger, leaving him doubtful for Tuesday's game against the Golden State Warriors.
The four-time All-Star suffered the injury during Saturday's loss to the Memphis Grizzlies. It was originally believed to be a wrist ailment and knocked him out after 18 minutes of action.
Aldridge was already playing through a torn ligament in his left thumb, opting against surgery in January that would have sidelined him for six-to-eight weeks. He's averaged 24 points and 10.9 rebounds in 23 games since sustaining the thumb tear.
The Northwest Division-leading Trail Blazers are also expected to be without Chris Kaman and Nicolas Batum on Tuesday. Batum is dealing with a lower back injury, while Kaman is recovering from a shoulder strain.
Aldridge is averaging a team-leading 23.5 points and 10.4 rebounds in 35.7 minutes.
