DeRozan passes Bargnani for 3rd on Raptors' all-time scoring list
DeMar DeRozan is moving on up.
The 25-year-old shooting guard, in his sixth NBA season, passed Andrea Bargnani for third on the Toronto Raptors' all-time scoring list Thursday night against the Chicago Bulls.
DeRozan entered the game with 6,577 points, trailing Bargnani's 6,581 by only four. DeRozan went 2-for-8 to start the game, and added a couple of free throws to knock Bargnani into fourth place. It took DeRozan 41 fewer games.
Here's where DeRozan now ranks in Raptors history:
- Chris Bosh: 10,275
- Vince Carter: 9,420
- DeMar DeRozan: 6,582
- Andrea Bargnani: 6,577
- Morris Peterson: 6,498
DeRozan, who made his first All-Star game last season, is signed through the 2016-17 season. When it's all said and done, he's likely to be the highest-scoring Raptor of all time.
The lesson here, though, is a simple one: Never forget the Bargnani era. It happened.
