This is the way the Hasheem Thabeet era ends, not with a bang but a whimper.

The Oklahoma City Thunder will send the 7-foot-3 center to the Philadelphia 76ers for a protected 2015 second-round pick, according to a press release. The Sixers are expected to waive Thabeet, while the Thunder net a small trade exception.

It's certainly not a blockbuster deal, and it's unclear as to whether Thabeet will find another NBA job. His height aside, Thabeet's 2.2-point, 2.7-rebound career averages aren't exactly appealing to most teams. It's expected that the Sixers will waive him before Sept. 1.
