The Los Angeles Lakers officially landed a pair of assets on Sunday, finalizing their trade with the Houston Rockets for point guard Jeremy Lin and a pair of picks.
The Lakers land a point guard in Lin, along with a future first-round draft pick and a second-round pick in 2015. In exchange, the Rockets grab the rights to Sergei Lishchuk, and open up enough cap space to sign a max-level player.
“This trade allows us to acquire a solid player who will make us a better team, as well as draft picks to improve our team in the future, while at the same time allowing us to maintain financial flexibility,” said Lakers General Manager Mitch Kupchak. “In addition to what he’ll bring us on the court, we think Jeremy will be warmly embraced by our fans and our community.”
