Knicks officially eliminated from playoffs

The Atlanta Hawks clinched the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference with a 98-85 win over the Miami Heat on Saturday night, officially spelling the end of the New York Knicks post-season aspirations.

The playoff spot isn't all that the Knicks lose in the process, as the 2014 first-round pick they traded as part of the Carmelo Anthony deal is now property of the Denver Nuggets, and is officially a lottery pick.

This will be an especially unusual feeling for Anthony, who will not be participating in the playoffs for the first time in his 11-year NBA career.
