New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony sustained a strained shoulder injury during Friday night's loss to the Washington Wizards. Anthony, the NBA's second leading scorer, went for X-rays after the game but they came back negative. It's expected that Anthony will play on Sunday afternoon against the Heat.
Despite the injury Anthony managed to log 38 minutes on Friday, recording 10 points on 5-for-14 shooting, eight boards, five assists, four steals and a game-high nine turnovers.
With Friday's Knicks loss and an Atlanta Hawks victory over the moribund Cleveland Cavaliers, New York now sit a game back of the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.
