Another big week is in the books for Clippers guard Chris Paul. He's sharing cover space with critically-acclaimed recording artist Kendrick Lamar on the brand new ESPN The Magazine: Music Issue, and he's taking flight on his own on the cover of the February issue of American Way.

Elected president of the NBA's Players Association last August, Paul's interview in the issue focuses largely on his leadership; it cites NBA.com's annual GM survey, wherein the point guard was given the top nod for his basketball IQ.

Said Paul:

“The thing about a leader is they have to be not afraid — not afraid of success and not afraid of failure. When you’re the leader, a lot of times you get the credit when you’re up but you also get the blame when you’re down. I’m sure at times guys are like, ‘Man, Chris is talking again. We’re not listening."

Paul's older brother C.J., now his manager, attested to Chris' standout leadership skills, even as a kid.

“He was very bossy, always wanting to tell people what to do — and that had nothing to do with sports," the older Paul said. "We shared a room for a long time. He used to try to get me to clean the room instead of him helping.”
