VIDEO: Kings' McCallum auditions for dunk contest with pre-game jam

Even some hardcore NBA fans may not be able to pick Sacramento Kings rookie Ray McCallum out of a lineup yet. The second round pick has appeared in just 11 games this season, playing 32 total minutes and scoring nine points with six assists.

But if the NBA goes youth-heavy with the 2014 Slam Dunk Contest, as they sometimes do, fans could become acclimated with McCallum very soon.

On Sunday, McCallum auditioned for the event for anyone watching with an impressive pre-game jam:

Playing time hasn't been a limiting factor for contest participants in the past, either. Just last season, James White participated having played just 228 minutes at the All-Star break. While Jeremy Evans is receiving regular run now, he participated in the last two dunk contests despite totaling just 432 minutes in those two years combined.

McCallum also has some dunk contest pedigree, having participated in the 2010 McDonald's High School All-American Dunk Contest, losing in the finals to Josh Selby.
