Dwyane Wade enlisted his kids to propose to Gabrielle Union

On what Dwyane Wade described as a regular Saturday, he enlisted the help of his two sons and his nephew for a well-executed plan to propose to his longtime girlfriend Gabrielle Union.

From Tim Reynolds of the Associated Press:

— His youngest son Zion held a sign with her name.

— His nephew Dahveon Morris' sign said "Will you."

— And his oldest son Zaire's sign read "marry us?"

Bewildered, Union turned to Wade and saw him on bended knee, then realized what was happening. An 8½-carat cushion cut diamond sealed the deal, and with that, Wade was an engaged man again.

"We asked her to marry all of us, not just me," Wade said. Zion, Zaire and Dahveon were concerned she would turn them down. "We're a package deal, so it was cool."

No date has been set for the wedding, though Wade expected it would fall in September, 2014.

He told AP he had been meeting with the jeweler, Beverly Hills-based Jason Arasheben, frequently over the last three months to make sure everything was right with the "timeless" ring he selected for the actress.

"It took a lot for him to do it, but I think Gab is perfect for him. I think D-Wade is perfect for Gab," LeBron James said of his friend and teammate.

"For them to be at one now and for their whole family to come together, man, I think it's amazing. It's another step for him. I thought it was pretty cool. I'm all for it. I'm happy for them."
