Report: Bulls sign Donovan to multi-year extension

Billy Donovan's tenure with the Chicago Bulls will continue for the foreseeable future as the head coach agreed to a long-term extension with the club, sources told ESPN's Shams Charania.

Donovan has been with the organization for five seasons, amassing a 195-205 record in 400 games and making the playoffs once.

He emerged as a potential candidate for the New York Knicks' opening once the team fired Tom Thibodeau but ultimately remains in Chicago as the Bulls continue their rebuild.

Prior to joining the Bulls, Donovan coached for five years with the Oklahoma City Thunder, posting a 243-157 mark in the process. He made his name as a coach with his massive success in the collegiate ranks, winning back-to-back national titles with Florida in 2006 and 2007.
