The Chicago Bulls' six championship banners were removed from the rafters at the United Center after being damaged during a concert headlined by heavy metal band Disturbed on Saturday night.

The banners sustained significant heat damage from a pyrotechnics display, which caused the bottom halves of the fabric to warp, Julia Poe of the Chicago Tribune reports. The United Center initially hoped to return the banners in time for Thursday's game against the Brooklyn Nets, but the repairs won't be completed until after the NBA regular season ends in April.

"United Center is currently working with the Bulls to explore options to repair these banners," United Center communications said in a statement. "While the banners will not be in place for the remainder of this season, we do anticipate them being back in place next season."

The banners commemorate the Bulls' championships from 1991, 1992, 1993, 1996, 1997, and 1998.

Chicago sits 10th in the Eastern Conference at 28-38 and holds the final play-in spot.
