Report: Bulls considering re-signing Ball in offseason
The Chicago Bulls have shown interest in re-signing veteran guard Lonzo Ball once his contract expires over the summer, NBA insider Marc Stein reports.
The Bulls have received interest for Ball all season but are not eager to trade him before Thursday's deadline or buy him out afterward, Stein adds.
Ball, 27, is averaging 7.2 points, 3.5 assists, 3.4 rebounds, and 1.5 steals in his first season back from multiple knee injuries. He is in the final season of a four-year, $80-million contract he signed in 2021.
Chicago recently traded two-time All-Star Zach LaVine to the Sacramento Kings as part of a three-team deal with the San Antonio Spurs. The franchise received Kevin Huerter, Tre Jones, Zach Collins, and their own 2025 first-round pick back in the trade.
The Bulls rank 10th in the Eastern Conference with a 21-29 record. They face the Miami Heat on Tuesday.
