Hawks' Nance to undergo hand surgery
Atlanta Hawks forward Larry Nance Jr. will require surgery to repair a fractured metacarpal bone in his right hand, the team announced Monday.
Nance will undergo the operation Jan. 2 and his timeline for return will be provided following the surgery.
The 31-year-old suffered the injury during Saturday's victory over the Miami Heat. He played over 26 minutes in the win and put up 10 points, 10 rebounds, and two steals.
He was ruled out of Sunday's win against the Toronto Raptors with the hand injury.
Nance is a key contributor off of Atlanta's bench this season. He's averaging the second-highest point total of his career (9.5) on 58.5% shooting and is also shooting a career-high 52% from three.
The Hawks will return to the court Wednesday against the Denver Nuggets.
