Report: Fournier leaving NBA for EuroLeague's Olympiacos
Veteran wing Evan Fournier is signing a two-year contract worth more than $4 million with Greek EuroLeague club Olympiacos, sources told The Athletic's Shams Charania.
Fournier recently competed with the French men's national basketball team at the Olympics, helping Les Bleus win a silver medal.
The 31-year-old split last season between the New York Knicks and Detroit Pistons. He played sparingly for the Knicks but averaged 7.2 points per game in 29 contests with the Pistons.
Fournier played 12 seasons in the NBA, beginning with the Denver Nuggets. He was traded in 2014 to the Orlando Magic, where he spent the majority of his career. Fournier ranks eighth in most points in franchise history (7,049) and ninth in games played (435).
The Magic traded him in 2021 to the Boston Celtics, where he finished the season before joining the Knicks in a sign-and-trade deal.
Over his career, Fournier is averaging 13.6 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 2.5 assists.
The Frenchman is the second NBA player to join the Greek club this summer after 2023 EuroLeague MVP Sasha Vezenkov, who was bought out by the Toronto Raptors in July.
