Report: Dinwiddie reunites with Mavs on 1-year deal

The Dallas Mavericks are signing free-agent guard Spencer Dinwiddie to a one-year contract, sources told The Athletic's Shams Charania.

Dinwiddie previously played with the Mavericks in 2022 after they acquired him as part of the Kristaps Porzingis trade. The veteran guard played an important role in Dallas' run to the Western Conference finals that season, averaging 14.2 points during the playoffs.

Dallas sent him to the Brooklyn Nets in the 2022-23 campaign as a key piece in the Kyrie Irving trade.

Dinwiddie spent last season between the Nets and Los Angeles Lakers, averaging 10.5 points, 4.7 assists, and 2.7 rebounds.

Dallas made The Finals last campaign for the first time since 2011, losing in five games to the Boston Celtics. In addition to Dinwiddie, the Mavs have also acquired Klay Thompson, Naji Marshall, and Quentin Grimes this offseason.
