NBA announces Cup groups for 2024
The groups for the NBA's 2024-25 In-Season Tournament were announced Friday.
There'll be 67 games played throughout the NBA Cup, with wins and losses counting toward a team's regular-season standings. The group stage will commence Nov. 12.
All 30 clubs have been placed into six groups of five teams based on last season's records. There are three groups from the West and three from the East.

The top squad from each group will advance to the knockout round, as well as one second-place wild card from each of the two conferences based on record.
The knockout rounds comprise single-elimination games, with the quarterfinals occurring Dec. 10 and 11. The semifinals and finals will be played in Las Vegas on Dec. 14 and 17, respectively.
The Los Angeles Lakers beat the Indiana Pacers to win the inaugural In-Season Tournament.
