The Minnesota Timberwolves are giving head coach Chris Finch a four-year contract extension through the 2027-28 campaign, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
Finch led the Timberwolves to a 56-26 mark this past season, the franchise's second-best record ever. Minnesota also advanced to the Western Conference finals for just the second time.
Notably, Finch spent the team's second- and third-round playoff series sitting on the sidelines after rupturing his patellar tendon, calling out plays with a cast on his leg.
The 54-year-old has a 160-127 record in three-and-a-half seasons at the helm. Prior to his first head coaching stint, he was an assistant for four NBA franchises.
