Report: Mavs eyeing Bronny with No. 58 pick
The Dallas Mavericks have interest in drafting USC guard Bronny James with the 58th and final pick in June's draft, sources told NBA insider Marc Stein.
However, the organization reportedly considers it extremely unlikely that the son of Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James will be available at that point.
The younger James is projected to be selected earlier in the second round, according to Stein. Dallas selects last at No. 58 after the Philadelphia 76ers and Phoenix Suns lost their second-round selection due to tampering violations.
James is unlikely to undergo further pre-draft workouts, having already met with the Lakers and Suns. L.A. holds Nos. 17 and 55, while Phoenix will draft at No. 22.
The 19-year-old played 25 games in his lone season at USC, averaging 4.8 points and 2.1 assists on 36.5% shooting from the field and 26.7% from three.
The first round of the draft takes place June 26, with the second round slated for the following day.
