Philadelphia 76ers head coach Nick Nurse and forward Kelly Oubre Jr. made no secret of their displeasure with the referees immediately following their 108-107 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday.

In real time, officials decided that Clippers star Paul George stayed vertical as Oubre made a last-second shot attempt near the rim.

"I thought there was certainly contact. I thought there was enough contact to call," Nurse told reporters postgame, according to NBC Philadelphia's John Clark.

After the game ended, Sixers coaches restrained Nurse and Oubre as they vented at the referees.

In their postgame video review, the officials determined that they should have blown the whistle for a foul on George.

"On the last play on the floor, in real time, the crew interpreted that play as the defender jumping vertically. However, in postgame video review, we did observe some slight drift to his left by the defender George, and a foul should have been ruled," referee Kevin Scott said, according to Keith Pompey of the Philadelphia Inquirer.

In the locker room, Oubre apologized for cursing out the referees but reaffirmed his belief that he was fouled on the final possession.

"I just ask for forgiveness. But I saw Coach Nurse getting riled up, and if our coach is going to fight for us ... I'm right behind him. But, at the end of the day, it wasn't cool, so I'll take whatever penalties come with that," he told reporters, according to PHLY Sixers.

He added, "There was absolutely contact, but they were calling those calls for (the Clippers). ... We get down to our side and it's like they didn't even see any contact. But I barely touched him on the other end and they still called it."

The loss dropped the Sixers to 39-34, eighth in the East but just 1.5 games behind the Indiana Pacers for sixth.
