Wemby's 10-block triple-double helps Spurs crush Raptors

San Antonio Spurs rookie phenom Victor Wembanyama had one of the best games of his young career Monday, dropping 27 points, 14 rebounds, and 10 blocks in a dominant 122-99 victory over the Toronto Raptors.

The points-rebounds-blocks triple-double is the first of its kind since Atlanta Hawks big man Clint Capela achieved the feat in 2021. It's the first ever from a player who made at least two 3-pointers in the contest.

Wembanyama's masterful performance also marked just the fourth time a rookie has put up a blocks triple-double and the first since Hall of Famer David Robinson did so in 1990.

Wembanyama added five assists and two steals, accumulating all his stats in just 28 minutes of action.

"He did a little bit of everything. He's obviously an all-around talented player," head coach Gregg Popovich said, according to the San Antonio Express-News' Tom Osborn. "He has a great feel for the game, and it shows in a variety of ways whether he's passing, making decisions, blocking shots, it doesn't matter."

Wembanyama already led the NBA in blocks per game before Monday's game, which marked the 12th time this season he's swatted at least five shots.

The Frenchman has put up 20-plus points in 17 of his last 22 games.

With Toronto struggling to generate any offense in the contest, Wembanyama put up more points and rebounds than any Raptors player and registered more than double the blocks of their entire team.
