Chicago Bulls guard Zach LaVine will have season-ending surgery on his right foot and miss the next four-to-six months, the team announced.
The two-time All-Star has not played since injuring his foot against the Toronto Raptors on January 18. He previously missed 17 games this season due to an injury on the same foot.
This announcement comes just five days before the NBA trade deadline on Feb. 8. The 28-year-old is open to the idea of a trade, according to The Athletic's Shams Charania.
This will be the third time LaVine goes under the knife. The former UCLA Bruin had a procedure to repair his left ACL in 2017 and then arthroscopic surgery on the same knee in 2022.
LaVine averaged 19.5 points in 25 games this season for the 23-26 Bulls, who sit ninth in the Eastern Conference.
