New York Knicks star Julius Randle is expected to miss a few weeks after suffering a dislocated shoulder, sources told The Athletic's Shams Charania.
Initial reviews of the MRI revealed no significant damage, Charania added. There's hope that Randle can avoid surgery, but further testing needs to be completed, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
However, there's no conclusive timetable for Randle's return, sources told SNY's Ian Begley.
Randle suffered the injury during Saturday's win against the Miami Heat when he landed on rookie Jaime Jaquez Jr. following a drive to the basket.
The 29-year-old has been ruled out for the Knicks' contest against the Charlotte Hornets on Monday.
Randle has averaged 24 points, 9.2 rebounds, and five assists in 46 games this campaign. Since signing with New York in 2019, he's only missed 44 regular-season contests.
