New Orleans Pelicans veteran guard CJ McCollum is targeting a potential return from his lung injury during the team's two-game homestand later this week, sources told The Athletic's Shams Charania.

The Pelicans host the Philadelphia 76ers on Wednesday and the San Antonio Spurs on Friday.

McCollum has missed the last 11 games due to a small collapse in his right lung that he suffered earlier in November. He's averaging 21.7 points, 5.7 assists, 4.8 rebounds, and 1.5 steals in 34.3 minutes per game this season.

The veteran guard was out 18 games during the 2021-22 season with the same injury.

New Orleans is 5-6 without McCollum in the lineup but has won five of its last seven contests.

The Pelicans rank ninth in the Western Conference with a 9-8 record. They take on the Utah Jazz later on Monday.
