Free agent forward Ronnie Brewer has landed in Houston to take a physical and sign a contract with the Rockets, according to MyFoxHouston's Sports Director, Mark Berman.
Brewer is reported to have agreed to a partially guaranteed two-year deal with the team.
The 28-year old, who split last season between the New York Knicks and Oklahoma City Thunder, believes the Rockets are a good fit for him.
They play my style. Dwight Howard is a defender, but can get up and down the court. Same thing with James Harden, (Chandler) Parsons and Jeremy Lin. We're going to get up and down the court. You need defenders. I think I feel both of those (areas).
After Brewer signs, the Rockets will have 19 players under contract, but he doesn't appear to be concerned about getting lost in the shuffle.
If I come in and do what I need to do, play at a high level, defend at a high level and knock down shots when I have the opportunity, I feel like I can make this team ... This is definitely a place that you want to be.
For his career, Brewer has averaged 8.2 points, 3 rebounds and 1.7 assists.
