The Atlanta Hawks are finalizing a four-year, $120-million veteran maximum extension with guard Dejounte Murray, sources told The Athletic's Shams Charania.
The deal includes a player option for the final season, Charania adds.
Murray averaged 20.5 points, 6.1 assists, and 5.3 rebounds last season, his first with the Hawks. Atlanta acquired him last offseason from the San Antonio Spurs in exchange for Danilo Gallinari, three first-round picks, and a future pick swap.
The 26-year-old has one year and $17.7 million left on his previous deal, which was set to expire in 2024.
Murray had a breakout 2021-22 campaign with the Spurs, earning his first All-Star appearance. He averaged career highs in points, rebounds, assists, and steals that season, racking up 13 triple-doubles.
Despite a quiet free-agency period, the Hawks have made some key moves this offseason, trading starting forward John Collins to the Utah Jazz and drafting guard Kobe Bufkin with the No. 15 pick.
