Heat grab 3-1 series lead over Bucks behind Butler's career-high 56 points

Jimmy Butler scored a career-high 56 points, including 21 in the fourth quarter, to lead the Miami Heat past the No. 1 Milwaukee Bucks 119-114 on Monday.

Butler is now tied with Hall of Famers Michael Jordan, Wilt Chamberlain, and Charles Barkley for the fourth-highest scoring total in a postseason game. He also set a new franchise record for most points in a playoff appearance, eclipsing LeBron James' 49 against the Nets in the 2014 Eastern Conference semifinals.

The No. 8 Heat are one win away from upsetting the top-seeded Bucks with Game 5 slated for Wednesday in Milwaukee.

"We knew what we were capable of," Butler said postgame. "Even if nobody else outside of this building, outside of this roster, and outside of this organization believed in us... we just want to continue to do what we know is possible."

"He's one of the most intelligent basketball players in this Association," Heat coach Erik Spoelstra added.

The Heat went on a 13-0 run during the fourth quarter to take the lead. They were down by 12 points with six minutes remaining and as many as 15 over the course of the game.

Butler set another record earlier in the contest, scoring a franchise- and career-high 22 points in the first quarter.
