Golden State Warriors forward Andrew Wiggins is expected to return early this week, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Wiggins has missed 22 straight games because his father, Mitchell, is dealing with a serious medical situation, sources told Shams Charania of The Athletic. The Warriors forward hasn't played since Feb. 13.

An All-Star starter last year, Wiggins has played in just 37 contests this season. He missed 15 consecutive games in December and January due to an adductor injury.

The Warriors have three regular-season games remaining. They host the Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday, visit the Sacramento Kings on Friday, and close the campaign against the Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday.

Golden State is currently just out of the play-in at sixth in the Western Conference, half a game ahead of the Los Angeles Lakers and New Orleans Pelicans.

Wiggins was a key contributor to Golden State's 2022 championship run, primarily defending opposing stars throughout the postseason.

The Canadian forward is averaging 17.1 points and five rebounds this campaign.
