Posters galore: Ranking the 10 best dunks of Ja Morant's career

With numerous posters over helpless defenders and raucous transition jams, the NBA has found the current face of the slam dunk - Memphis Grizzlies superstar Ja Morant.

Morant has now dunked against every team in the league after Saturday's matchup against the Indiana Pacers, according to Synergy's Todd Whitehead. He's detonated 18 times against the division-rival San Antonio Spurs, his highest total against any opponent.

With 187 career dunks over four seasons, here are 10 of Morant's best:

10. Two hands for safety

Morant lives in transition. Whether he's pushing the pace himself or running along the wings to catch feeds from teammates, defenders must always be weary of his proximity on the break. While Cory Joseph tried to take the charge, Xavier Tillman found Morant with the alley-oop against the Detroit Pistons.

9. Boucher can't keep up

When Morant has a full head of steam driving toward the rim, few defenders can stop him. Toronto Raptors big man Chris Boucher found out the hard way after getting switched onto him, getting dunked on promptly with a forceful one-hander.

8. Taking flight at All-Star Game

The All-Star Game is made for big moments from the league's brightest stars. Two players routinely known for highlight-reel plays connected on this sequence, with Trae Young delivering a slick feed to Morant for a reverse hammer.

7. Putting Robin Lopez in blender

Big men and guards alike have to be aware of Morant when the Grizzlies run pick-and-rolls. Morant had veteran big man Robin Lopez spinning in circles before exploding for a leaning poster slam over the former Orlando Magic center.

6. Ja gets it right back

While Morant looks for his teammates to get them baskets, they also look out for him for big dunks - especially on the break. Here, Tyus Jones finds Morant for a powerful alley-oop jam against the Chicago Bulls after the latter initially passed to his backup. Morant barely looks at the rim, opting to take in his cheering teammates.

5. Setting himself up for success

Some of the most spectacular dunks come when players throw it off the backboard to themselves. Off one foot, Morant makes the pass off glass to himself before jumping again to catch the ball for a sturdy two-handed jam - with a trio of helpless Spurs players around the basket watching.

4. Clutch poster on Aron Baynes

Even in his rookie year, Morant delivered incredible highlight-reel slams. The audacity to switch hands while floating away from the basket to put the 6-foot-10 Aron Baynes on a poster during crunch time for his first truly memorable NBA moment was an early sign of his superstardom.

3. Poeltl tries Ja twice

It seems no one told Jakob Poeltl about Morant's presence around the basket. Over the span of 11 months, the Spurs big man has been on the receiving end of two nasty one-handed dunks from Morant. Each time, the 7-foot-1 center has gone chest-to-chest with the explosive 6-foot-2 guard - with Morant twice overcoming the Austrian's well-known stature around the rim.

2. Playoff magic

A dunk rarely changes the course of a game. But Morant's lethal hammer over former Minnesota Timberwolves guard Malik Beasley ignited a spirited Grizzlies comeback in Game 5 of their first-round series last postseason. Memphis would outscore Minnesota in the fourth quarter to win before taking Game 6 to advance to the conference semifinals.

1. Jalen Smith's Kodak moment

It would be foolish to have anything other than this season's top candidate for dunk of the year in this spot. Detonating a monster slam on Indiana Pacers big man Jalen Smith, Morant delivered the textbook definition of a poster. Morant himself called it his best dunk, dubbing it the one "everybody has been waiting for."
