The Charlotte Hornets announced that forward Kelly Oubre will undergo surgery Thursday for a torn ligament in his left hand.

He's set to miss four-to-six weeks, The Athletic's Shams Charania reports.

Oubre suffered the injury to his shooting hand during the first week of the season and has been playing through the pain, Charania adds. He missed three of the Hornets' last four games due to the injury.

The 27-year-old is having a career season for the Hornets, averaging 20.2 points, 5.1 rebounds, 1.6 steals, and 1.2 assists in 32.6 minutes per game. Oubre is second on the team in scoring, behind All-Star guard LaMelo Ball.

Charlotte sits 14th in the Eastern Conference with a 10-28 record. The Hornets take on the Memphis Grizzlies on Wednesday, with tipoff slated for 7 p.m. ET.
