Warriors top Forbes' list of most valuable NBA teams for 1st time ever

The Golden State Warriors have overtaken the New York Knicks as the NBA's most valuable franchise.

The reigning NBA champions came in at No. 1 on Forbes' latest ranking of the league's most valuable teams with an estimated net worth of $7 billion, an increase of 25% from last year. This marks the first time that a team other than the Knicks or Los Angeles Lakers has occupied the top spot on the list since Forbes began valuing NBA franchises.

The Knicks, who previously held the top spot for seven straight years, finished second at $6.1 billion, followed by the Lakers ($5.9 billion), Chicago Bulls ($4.1 billion), and Boston Celtics ($4 billion).

The average NBA team is now worth $2.86 billion, up 15% from last year.
