Discussions about a trade that would send Utah Jazz guard Donovan Mitchell to the New York Knicks have fizzled out, sources told The Athletic's Shams Charania.

The Jazz and Knicks have not spoken in roughly two weeks, Charania reports. The first reports of the two teams discussing a trade for the three-time All-Star came earlier in July.

Utah is continuing trade conversations around the 25-year-old with the Charlotte Hornets and Washington Wizards, Charania adds.

The Knicks have eight first-rounders in future drafts to offer in a trade for Mitchell, along with young, low-cost players such as Quentin Grimes, Immanuel Quickley, and Obi Toppin.

Earlier in the offseason, the Jazz sent three-time Defensive Player of the Year Rudy Gobert to the Minnesota Timberwolves for a package that included a myriad of young talent and four first-round picks.

Mitchell averaged 25.9 points, 5.3 assists, 4.2 rebounds, and 1.5 steals in 67 games with the Jazz this past season.
