Clippers sign John Wall to 2-year, $13.2M deal
The Los Angeles Clippers signed veteran guard John Wall to a two-year contract worth $13.2 million, Klutch Sports Group announced Friday.
Wall, who hasn't played an NBA game in over a year, became a free agent by way of a buyout agreement after he exercised his $47.4-million player option with the Houston Rockets.
The former No. 1 pick earned five consecutive All-Star appearances with the Washington Wizards before a series of injuries, including a torn Achilles, forced him to miss the entire 2019-20 campaign.
He bounced back after being traded to Houston the following season, averaging 20.6 points and 6.9 assists across 40 starts.
The 2021-22 campaign was another lost season for Wall, though, as the Rockets were unable to find a trade partner after both parties agreed he'd sit out until a deal was made.
Wall, 31, averaged 19.1 points, 9.1 assists, and 4.3 rebounds in 613 career games.
