Towns agrees to 4-year, $224M maxiumum extension with T-Wolves

The Minnesota Timberwolves and center Karl-Anthony Towns agreed to a four-year, $224-million super-max contract extension, his agent told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.

Towns averaged 24.6 points, 9.8 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 1.1 blocks, and a steal in 74 games for the T-Wolves this past season, good for a spot on the All-NBA third team.

The 26-year-old led Minnesota to a 46-36 record. In their first playoff appearance since 2018, the Timberwolves lost to the Memphis Grizzlies in six games in the opening round.

The Kentucky product previously signed a five-year, $190-million super-max extension in 2018. Towns was selected first overall in the 2015 NBA Draft.
