Curry: I'll bounce back from poor Game 5 shooting

SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA - JUNE 13: Stephen Curry #30 of the Golden State Warriors reacts after teammate Draymond Green #23 shot a free throw during the second quarter against the Boston Celtics in Game Five of the 2022 NBA Finals at Chase Center on June 13, 2022 in San Francisco, California. Stephen Curry wasn't his typical self from long range in the Golden State Warriors' pivotal 104-94 Game 5 win over the Boston Celtics, as he failed to connect on a 3-pointer for the first time in 233 games.

Curry went 0-for-9 from distance Monday to bring his all-time streak to an end. The last time he failed to convert a trey was against the Milwaukee Bucks on Nov. 8, 2018, a game he exited early with a leg injury.

However, the Warriors star said he won't adjust his approach despite the uncharacteristic outing.

"I'm not afraid to go 0-for-whatever because I'm going to keep shooting and taking shots that you normally feel like you can make," Curry said, according to ESPN's Ohm Youngmisuk. "And I've responded well when I've had games like that from the 3-point line."

Curry's teammates aren't concerned about the sharpshooter's ability to bounce back, either.

"We're never stressed or worried about No. 30," Klay Thompson said. "He has done so much and elevated this franchise to a place where it was hard to even imagine that he has leeway, and he can have a bad night.

"I just know he'll respond. He's one of the greatest competitors I've ever been around. And he's a perfectionist, like myself. I know he'll be thinking about the shots he missed. And that's a good thing, because Thursday, hopefully … he regresses to the mean, and it's scary when he does."

"Obviously, track record says I shoot the ball better the next game," Curry said. "Looking forward to that bounce-back."

With a 3-2 series lead, Curry and the Warriors can wrap up the Finals in Game 6 at TD Garden on Thursday.
