Golden State Warriors center James Wiseman is nearing clearance for full-contact workouts and could return to action at the Las Vegas Summer League in July, sources told The Athletic's Shams Charania and Anthony Slater.
Wiseman missed the 2021-22 campaign due to complications during his recovery from a torn meniscus, which he had surgically repaired in April 2021. He received an orthobiologic injection - used to increase healing throughout the body - in his arm this April.
Jonathan Kuminga and Moses Moody - the Warriors' 2021 lottery picks - will both participate in some portion of the exhibition contests, according to Charania and Slater.
Golden State drafted Wiseman with the No. 2 selection in the 2020 draft, one pick before LaMelo Ball. The big man hasn't played since his rookie season and owns career averages of 11.5 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 0.9 blocks in 39 games (27 starts).
The Warriors reached the NBA Finals for the sixth time in eight seasons this year. Kevon Looney, who's set to become an unrestricted free agent, has impressed as Golden State's starting center. He averaged seven points, 8.5 boards, three assists, 1.3 steals, and one block through four Finals games.
