The Utah Jazz are expected to interview former Los Angeles Lakers bench boss Frank Vogel for their head coaching vacancy, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
Quin Snyder stepped down from his position with the Jazz on Monday after being at the helm for eight seasons. He led the team to six consecutive playoff appearances without making it past the first round.
Vogel joins a long list of candidates Utah has asked to interview, which reportedly includes former Portland Trail Blazers head coach Terry Stotts, New York Knicks assistant coach Johnnie Bryant, Boston Celtics assistant Will Hardy, and Milwaukee Bucks assistant Charles Lee.
Utah also reportedly requested to speak to Miami Heat assistant Chris Quinn and Phoenix Suns associate head coach Kevin Young on Wednesday, according to Wojnarowski.
The 48-year-old Vogel spent three seasons as the head coach of the Lakers, guiding them to their first championship in over 10 years in 2020. However, he failed to meet expectations in the following two campaigns and was dismissed in April after L.A. didn't make the playoffs.
Vogel led the Indiana Pacers to five playoff appearances between 2011 and 2016 and spent two seasons as head coach of the Orlando Magic. He holds a career record of 431-389.
Jazz assistant Lamar Skeeter is also expected to be interviewed for the position, Wojnarowski reports. Skeeter joins Alex Jensen as the second assistant on Snyder's bench to be requested for an interview.
