The Portland Trail Blazers are set to add ESPN NBA Draft analyst Mike Schmitz in an assistant general manager role, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
He will work in tandem with newly hired general manager Joe Cronin, and the pair will focus on the Blazers' scouting department, Wojnarowski adds.
Schmitz handled much of ESPN's draft content across multiple platforms, focusing on prospect news and player profiles while recently providing on-air analysis during the network's coverage of the draft itself.
Alongside his media duties, Schmitz also worked as an assistant coach for the Ugandan men's senior national team as recently as 2021's AfroBasket tournament.
