Boston Celtics center Robert Williams missed Game 3 against the Miami Heat with left knee soreness.

Williams appeared in the first two contests this series but previously missed six games this postseason with knee ailments. The big man underwent surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee near the end of March and missed four weeks.

With Williams unavailable, the Celtics leaned more heavily on Al Horford and Daniel Theis, both of whom started the contest.

The All-Defensive second-team selection averaged 10 points, 9.6 rebounds, 2.2 blocks, and 0.9 steals while averaging 29.6 minutes across 61 regular-season appearances. Williams' production has tailed off slightly in seven postseason tilts, which can be partially attributed to playing fewer minutes per game (21.3) and his lingering knee troubles.

The Celtics and Heat entered Game 3 at TD Garden with the series tied 1-1.
